June update from Entrepreneurial Spark

Entrepreneurial Spark is currently running two national programmes: The Space Accelerator and Evolve.

Our Space Accelerator contains several programmes, and there are opportunities across all of them:

  • The Explore Programme is for early-stage (idea through to proof of concept) startups using space technology of any kind, or startups outside the space sector looking to break in. Applications are in their final weeks for our July cohort, more info here.
  • The Leo Programme and Geo Programme are for space-related startups that are further along on their journeys. We are coming to the end of these cohorts and applications will open for our September intake in June. Leo businesses must have proof of concept in place, and Geo businesses must have either raised £500k or be generating £500k of annualised revenue. Founders who are interested can register to be notified when we open: Leo programme and Geo programme
  • Our Fusion investment-completion programme is nearing its conclusion. We have our final demo day in Leeds on 12th June where 12 of our alumni will be pitching for investment. They are all using space technology but have end-markets in agriculture, maritime, climate, aerospace and telecoms amongst others. If you know of any investors or super-connectors who might be interested then they can register an interest here and we’ll be in touch.
  • And finally our next Trajectory event (think anti-conference, Space startup roadshow) is taking place at the University of Lancaster on 18th June. The idea is to connect national space startups with regional ecosystems to the benefit of both. The event is invitation-only, so if you know anyone based on the North/North-West who would like to connect with some of our alumni as part of the regional ecosystem then let me know and I can organise.

Evolve is our own in-house accelerator, intended to fill in the gaps between funded programmes. There is free and paid support available for any of your cohorts who are looking for their next steps. We have just launched two new 30-day sprints: Find Your Best Customers and Growth Business Fundamentals – if you want your cohorts to have a good grounding in key accelerator methods without delivering the content yourself, then these may be opportunities.
