October update from AWRC

Completion of second accelerator programme

Our second cohort of companies have been through our curated programme which closed with a showcase on 6th September. The event was well attended and included pitching from the cohort and a number of panel sessions with guest speakers. R&D projects with the cohort are ongoing and we are looking at grant funding opportunities with them with an early success just confirmed in the latest Innovate UK FAST award call.

The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) is an Indian non-governmental trade association and advocacy group, focused mainly on the technology industry of India. They have been visiting sites across the UK and SYMCA ensured they came to South Yorkshire to visit the AMRC and AWRC (possibly other sites).

Estonian Delegation

The AWRC, along with P4SY colleagues, attended an event in Leeds hosted by Y&H AHSN to welcome an Estonian startup delegation, this follows on from visits from the US, Norway and Israel. We are keen to advocate for South Yorkshire and glad that the AHSN invited us as it was quite a Leeds-centric audience up to that point.
